Masks are required in closed and open public places from Friday

In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan, Qatar’s cabinet announced the decision to require wearing of masks in closed and public spaces starting from Friday, 31 December 2021.

The Cabinet has also decided to continue allowing conferences, exhibitions, and events in accordance with the following rules and guidelines:

First:

1. Capacity not exceeding (75%), in open spaces.
2. Capacity not exceeding (50%), in closed places, provided that (90%) of the participants who completed doses of the (Covid-19) vaccine, obligating those who did not complete or did not receive doses of the (Covid-19) vaccine by conducting the rapid test for the Coronavirus (Rapid Antigen) approved by the Ministry of Public Health, or the (PCR) examination.

Second:

Compliance with health requirements, procedures, precautions and controls established by the Ministry of Health is taken into account.

Third:

The Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health and other government agencies, each falling under their jurisdiction, take action in this regard to ensure compliance with sanitary regulations and required precautions and measures.

Fourth: These decisions shall be effective on Friday, 31 December 2021, until further notice
